Dr. Amir Goharshady

Prof Amir Goharshady is SundarSTEM advisor in Computer Science. Amir's research is focused on Theoretical Computer Science (Programming Languages and Formal Verification) and has been supported by grants and fellowships from Facebook, IBM, Austrian Academy of Sciences, Iranian National Scientific Elites Foundation, Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851, and the London Mathematical Society. Amir holds a PhD from the Institute of Science and Technology Austria, an MSc from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a GradDip from the University of London.

During his time as a student in Iran, Dr. Amir won a total of 14 medals in national and international Olympiads, in both mathematics and computing. He first visited Pakistan in 2014 and is especially fond of Lahore and the splendid Persian poems of its great philosopher-poet, Allama Iqbal.
